Timir Biswas

Born in a suburban town in West Bengal, Timir was drawn towards Bengali literature and arts from an early age. Growing up in a household surrounded by performing arts and theater only added to this draw.

With a god-gifted, mellifluous voice and lots of determination, Timir roamed around in various rural parts of the state in search of long-lost folk music and literature which he added to his repertoire. His travails led him to spiritualism which became an integral part of his life along with music.

Timir has been immensely successful in campaigning for the folk music of Bengal and he is considered a strong voice in this area. He has constantly released old songs in a new package, produced and directed music videos, worked with and promoted upcoming artists and is also considered one of the finest playback singers of the country. He has also been rewarded multiple times for his music and his efforts to further the Bengali music culture and its heritage.
